The Irish (Éire) Shilling Coin Ring
The Irish (Éire) Shilling Coin was minted in 75% silver for four years - 1939, 1940, 1941 and 1942.
The Irish Shilling Coin Ring features the 16-string Irish harp which is modelled on the Brian Boru harp which nowadays, can be found in the long room in Trinity College, Dublin. Ireland’s agricultural heritage is strongly presented on The Irish Shilling Coin Ring; one side of the ring features a bull designed by artist Percy Metcalfe and if you look carefully, his initials (PM) can be seen after the word Scilling.
We apply a patina to The Irish Shilling Coin Ring which makes the details and beading stand out beautifully. This ring is made from one of the smaller coins we use and has a band width of approx 6 mm. By default the ring is made with the shilling side out but if you would prefer the year side out please let us know. The ring pictured is a 1940 but the year you receive will be random unless you specify in the "notes or instructions" box at checkout.
